Aiden's 6th Bird- Day!

It's been a pretty long time since I have posted about anything too important. I was planning on catching up (in order) on a few specific events, but I am scratching that plan and going straight to the coolest 6th Bird-Day ever.

With a movie theater, bounce houses, slides, and tons of arcade and Wii games the kiddos were overwhelmed with fun!

Aiden had an awesome time! It was such a special party.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that he's now 6. Over night he aged and became more independent than ever. We hear a lot of "Mom, I got it. I'm 6." , and "I'm 6 now, remember?". It's bitter sweet.

Halloween Festivities Kindergarten Style.

I am so lucky to be involved with Aiden’s classroom as much as I am. I feel like I get to see part of a world that is simply his and has a huge influence on his growth in life. Earlier this week Cody got a window into his classroom as well. Our station together was pumpkin decoration. Aiden makes such a cute pirate I can't stand it!

We love that we get to meet so many of his friends and get a feel for who he spends his time with during the day.

They decorated cookies and "Mummy" juice boxes. One mom brought mini mud dirt pies with worms, so stinking cute!

He writes his name on EVERYTHING lately. Everything.

Aiden was chosen to be the MUMMY! Haha...He totally loved it. And his team did an awesome job.

All the kiddos had such different and creative costumes. I think my fav was Stitch! Aiden said the same. =]

Smell My Feet.

We started off our Halloween evening with having some friends over for some corn chowder. I have GOT to write up the recipe for it. It was one of those, Im gonna throw a ton of stuff in a crock pot and see how it turns out, kind of dinner. After we ate and got the kiddos all dolled up we headed towards a harvest festival down the street. OMG…I don’t think I have ever seen so much candy in one place. Holy sugar gods! It was the most interesting and well put together Halloween event I have even been to. Such an awesome thing for the community.

The kids really enjoy having friends so close to home. Addalie talks about her best friends constantly and mentions them to everyone..."Hey, do you know my best friend?".

I am totally in love with my little pirates costumes. Were they last minute? Well, lets just say the last tutu was sewn together around 6pm Wednesday night. But still…I think they are my favorite costumes the kids have worn and I have made to date.

We ended our fun at Grandma and Papa’s house and trick or treating in the pouring rain. The kids were troopers and didn’t mind one bit. And walking in the rain was actually kind of fun.

Do we have candy? Hells yes. We have so much candy I have no idea what to do with it. I know I will be hiding it at the end of the day after the kids go to bed tonight because I am simply sick of hearing “Can I have just one more piece please? Oh Please!!!” and “But I haven’t tried THAT kind yet!!”. And Liv just might even be the worst. I can’t count the times she has cried today over a piece of candy that she found and I had to take away from her. Oh man. This can not be good for MY sugar addiction.

Pumpkin Carving.

Carving pumpkins at Nana and Grandpas house this year. Things we learned and/or have been reminded of… 1) Olivia likes pumpkin guts. She likes them so much she will eat them raw.  2) Addalie would like nothing to do with carving a pumpkin. She would rather run around the backyard and skin up her knees as much as possible.

  3) Aiden is so very independent, and had very little help carving his entire pumpkin. I think it turned out pretty awesome.

4) Pumpkin guts burn and make my hands itch so bad. By the end of the night my throat was driving my nuts. “banana feeling” AKA my weird fruit allergies.  Thanks for help with carving guys.

Last but not least ... 5) It is entirely impossible these days to get a great family photo without anyone moving/screaming/crying/nose picking/any other weird thing my kids seem to be obsessed with doing at the time.

we ended that night with sleepy babies rubbing their eyes,  some funky pumpkins, and cleaned seeds to be toasted the next morning.

Daddy Love

Words are not enough to explain what an amazing Daddy, Grandpa, and Papa we have in our hearts, so here are a few of my favorite fatherly moments I would love to share...

Only the greatest of dads get promoted to Grandpa.

A sons first hero and a daughter first love....Dad.

Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a Dad.

A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.
